As the leading body and voice of the controllership and corporate finance community, we are excited to announce our second annual Controller of the Year Award.
Second Annual Controller of the Year Awards™
Created to recognize the effectiveness and achievements of Controllers and related roles/titles including Chief Accounting Officers, CFOs, Comptrollers, Vice Presidents, and other corporate finance executives, the Controller of the Year Awards™ is now open for submissions.
What Are We Looking For?
Broken into six categories by company size and type—Small/Medium/Enterprise/Startup/Not-For-Profit/Other, those interested can nominate themselves, a peer, or manager.
Whether you’re an entry-level professional or staff accountant looking to get on your boss’ good side, a controller looking to add a prestigious title to their LinkedIn profile, or a C-suite leader looking to celebrate one of your corporate finance professional’s efforts, you can do so for free here.
How Can You Nominate?
To nominate (or self-nominate), all you need to do is submit a bit of information and anonymously add brief summary information about 2021 financial performance, work experience, volunteer or philanthropic activities, and educational background.
How Do We Select Controllers of the Year?
Following your submission, our team will screen this information using a proprietary algorithm to identify finalists by state, before our blue-chip panel of judges select the Controller of the Year by state, and ultimately a national 2021 Controller of the Year.
When Can You Expect to Hear?
Winners will be announced by March 2022, and all winners will receive a frame-quality Certificate. The national 2021 Controller of the Year will receive a gold-plated and engraved statuette/trophy manufactured by the makers of the Oscar® Awards.
Get to Know the 2020 Winners
Winners of the first annual 2020 Controller of the Year Awards were selected after a nomination period and judging process that began in January of 2021. Hundreds of applicants were either self-nominated, or nominated by a colleague via a brief and anonymous online survey that requested information on 2020 financial performance, work experience, volunteer or philanthropic activities, and educational background.
Winners were announced for 5 categories based on size and type, along with public or private classifications, and Runners-Up, where applicable.
Finally, from the category winners above, a 2020 National Controller of the Year was selected based on the same criteria: Brandt Kucharski, Grubhub.
The 2020 Controller of the Year Awards culminated with 15 Winners, all invited to participate in a virtual “red carpet” event. Watch the recap at the link below:
