Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA)
The COCPA helps people thrive personally and professionally through service and connection. We’re here to make a difference for our members and the Colorado accounting profession by providing relevant learning and career growth opportunities, facilitating meaningful connections, encouraging diversity and inclusion within the profession, and supporting a positive business environment through legislative and regulatory advocacy. Founded in 1904, the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA) is a 501(c)(6) professional membership association for CPAs and accounting professionals in Colorado with a membership of 6,400. Headquartered in the Denver Tech Center, the COCPA operations encompass diverse activities, including member services, continuing education, and peer review. The Educational Foundation of COCPA, the affiliated 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, fundraises and grants scholarships to Colorado accounting students.
National Society of Black Certified Public Accountants
The mission of the National Society of Black Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (“NSBCPA”) is to increase the number of Black CPAs by providing the most relevant knowledge, resources, and advocacy; and to promote cultural competence, diversity, and inclusion within the profession. Less than 1% of all CPAs in the United States are Black CPAs. Black CPAs are by far the most underrepresented group within the CPA profession. With this in mind, the NSBCPA was founded in June 2020 in the State of Illinois as a membership non-profit organization.
Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants
The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants is the state’s premier professional association serving CPAs and accountants in business, education, government and public accounting and seeks to provide its members with services and benefits which allow its members to strengthen their practices and enhance their experience in the accounting profession.
Northern Illinois University – Department of Accountancy
The NIU Department of Accountancy is a Prepare nationally ranked academic program. Out of more than 1,000 accountancy programs nationwide, we’re one of only 173 to earn the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accounting accreditation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. NIU’s 2015 CPA exam pass rate for graduate students taking the exam for the first time was 69.4 percent, well above the national average. The pass rate for our bachelor’s degree students was also above the national and state averages. Based on feedback from 143 executives of corporate in-house tax departments, NIU’s accountancy program was ranked nationally as:
- 11th best undergraduate accountancy program
- 9th best master of science in taxation program
- 9th best master of accounting science program
